SIRIUS SPACE SERVICE has joined forces with HALCYON to co-design the fairing for its launch vehicles. Made of aluminum honeycomb sandwich, this fairing is a world first, made possible by Halcyon’s patented technology.
Aluminium honeycomb sandwich material not only meets Sirius’ requirements for lightness and robustness, but is also an ideal solution to the performance and durability challenges facing the space industry.
Thanks to its honeycomb structure, this material optimizes the strength-to-weight ratio, essential for space applications where every gram counts. In addiction, it offers highly resistance to the extreme conditions of the vacuum of space, while guaranteeing remarkable longevity.
This technology is also part of a sustainable approach, as aluminum is infinitely recyclable, making it an ecological solution to the challenges of space exploration.
Drawing on its expertise and know-how, Halcyon develops and produces custom-made structures to Sirius’ specifications.
