HALCYON has embarked on a new development with a major project for SIAM, a subsidiary of the DIS group: new ranges of overhead and underground street furniture for RER stations operated by the RATP (Parisian Transport Company).

HALCYON has developed the panels of the waiting areas in aluminium honeycomb sandwich and Krion® for a large number of stations in Paris, including Vincennes, Nanterre Ville, Nogent-sur-Marne and La Croix de Berny.

This new range of street furniture, which is currently being rolled out, bears the fine design signature of the Fritsch Durisotti design studio, based in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, on the outskirts of Paris.

The Krion® material supplied by the PORCELANOSA Group was chosen for these panels because of its composition, which offers high resistance and durability to natural phenomena, impacts, shocks and stains. Its heat resistance and flame retardant properties allow it to be used in contact with heat sources without damaging its appearance.

Once again, HALCYON has demonstrated its expertise in the design and manufacture of aluminium honeycomb structures. The ultra-light, ultra-strong parts can be easily deployed and handled by RATP maintenance staff. As a result, less labour is required to install and fit them, which represents a real benefit for the customer.

With their original, modern aesthetic, street furniture is an eye-catching addition to Paris stations, and an extension of the RATP’s project to renovate and embellish its metro stations.

Thermoforming mold design, gluing, machining and, of course, aluminum honeycomb sandwich production… Everything is made 100% in-house at HALCYON! So our customers benefit from the reactivity and know-how of our team. And that gives us greater control over costs, deadlines and quality.

If you wish more information about our knowledge and ability to meet your specific needs, the Halcyon team will be happy to answer your questions!
